There was an astronomer or a scientist who at the time of popular belief that the world was flat, came up with his findings that the earth was indeed round.
He was vilified, misunderstood, and excommunicated. He was forced to recant his sayings that were termed as heresies. Later on, the world proved that he was right, and it was Pope John Paul the second that asked for forgiveness on behalf of the church about that.
That's the same thing we do with some visionaries today. When they do not fit our status quo we misunderstand them. Here are two more ways in which we do that. Listen to this.
